The Federation of Speleological Organizations of Serbia (Savez Speleoloskih Organizacija Srbije, SSOS) was initially founded in 1977, by three caving clubs, the only active in Serbia at the time:

▪ Speleologic branch of the Mountaineering Association of Belgrade (Speleološki odsek Planinarskog Saveza Beograda  - SOB)
▪ Research society "Vladimir Mandić - Manda", Department of Speleology (Speleološka grupa Društva istraživača "Vladimir Mandić - Manda")
▪ Student Speleologic and Alpinistic Club (Akademski speleološko-alpinistički klub  - ASAK)

Due to the breakup of former Yugoslavia and the following political and economical crisis, the activities of the SSOS have gradually faded away in the beginning of the 1990s. The clubs continued to be active (as much as financial circumstances allowed), but strict international isolation of Serbia at that time discouraged us from the activities at the national level. The Federation activites were resumed in 2005.

The president of the Federation is Mihajlo Mandić, and the secretary is Bojana Anđelković. The contact email is  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
